This 3.5 hour course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to those that undertake a teaching and/or lifesaving role with direct responsibility for a group of pupils swimming in shallow water (less than 1.2 metres). Courses are organised by Suffolk Norse Ltd on behalf of Suffolk County Council.
The course, in 4 parts, covers:
Part 1 - safe practice
Part 2 - recovery and removal of casualties from water

****Shallow Water Certificate Course****NEW SYLLABUS LIFEGUARD ASSISTED (EVENT FULL)
This is a 1.5 hour course consisting of practical and theoretical components. Course members should be aware that this is a practical course involving reaching, and wading rescues, recovery of manikins from pool floor, be able to fully submerge up to 1.2m depth, lifting, moving and turning others in water. Covid measures are in place.

This is an opportunity for newly qualified teachers from all school phases to meet colleagues and develop networks.
The session will support NQTs to make the most of their induction period. It will include roles, responsibilities and support available.
There is no charge for this event, however, we ask that no more than 6 NQTs from any one school should apply for each session to allow opportunities for networking with NQTs from other schools.
Schools, and education settings, share with others a duty to safeguard the children in their care. Implementing safer recruitment practices is one way of discharging this safeguarding obligation. This one-day course gives school staff recruiters the information and understanding they need to recruit safely and comply with relevant statutory guidance. It is suitable for all those involved in staff selection.
Please note that there is a charge for this course. It is not covered by subscription to other Schools’ Choice services, including Governor Services.
