Event Description |
This CPD is aimed at teachers and classroom practitioners of pupils in key stages 1 and 2 with the aim of getting maximum progress and attainment from EAL learners who are proficient, particularly in their spoken English, (DFE proficiency codes D and E). Please note that there are refreshments throughout the day but no lunch is provided. Charge per delegate is £50.00 (there is no charge for maintained schools). |

Training Objectives | Delegates will have covered the following aspects to apply to the teaching of EAL advanced learners: • characteristics of advanced learners • BICS and CALP • rates of progress we should expect/plan for • the register continuum • how to plan for academic language alongside content • developing vocabulary and structuring language • questioning the EAL/SEN overlap and what to do. |
