Planning and Delivering an Effective Literacy Intervention for Learners with Dyslexia/Literacy Difficulties

Event Description This training will provide approaches for personalising and delivering a multi-sensory, structured literacy intervention for learners with dyslexia/literacy difficulties.
Topics covered will include:
how to structure a 1:1 intervention session
using a ‘directed discovery’ approach for introducing phonemes and concepts
strategies for over-learning and supporting memory
onset and rime, syllable division and morphology as decoding strategies
Training Objectives Attendees will understand what is meant by a multi-sensory approach.
Attendees will be shown how to use strategies to support memory and foster independence during a 1:1 intervention.
Attendees will learn about the importance of onset and rime, syllable division and morphology as decoding strategies.
