Event Code SCH 18/155
Training Provider Outreach Services
Event Description This practical workshop will teach you how to use the in-built accessibility functions on the iPad, such as, text to speech, speech to text, editing and personalising tools, to allow learners with dyslexia and literacy difficulties to access the curriculum effectively. Apple Pages and Keynote applications will be demonstrated to show how they can be used as alternatives to written recording. We will also highlight other useful literacy Apps and curriculum audio books for both secondary and primary phases. Attendees will need to bring an IPad however there will be some spare IPads to borrow.
Training Objectives Subject Teachers, Teaching Assistants and SENDCos will feel more confident in using the IPad to successfully remove barriers to learning for students with dyslexia and literacy difficulties, allowing them to access the wider curriculum.
